thanks for the private notification in my guestbook! Sorry couldn't write at once cause I am so busy. Hmmm... this wallpaper looks like a sketch, the light coloring supports this impression. The thing that really stands out is the burger... *lol* I think it's really funny how you interpreted the original scans and how you put them together. In my opinion something is missing though... it looks a bit incomplete? Or maybe it's just me cause my wallpapers are always filled with rather strong colors.
What I like most about this wallpaper is how you made it looks so sketchy. Even your signature looks sketchy, I like how you placed it! So that part is great... maybe the background looks a bit empty? And did u want this impression, that only the burger stands out?

wow! I am impressed... you changed the original scan into something totally different. It looks so lovely *snif*... I love childhood things... this looks indeed like the cover of a fairy tale book. I fell in love with it... beautiful colors, the dreamy background... So cute how the letters are falling out... Can I move to Magic Mountain too? (sorry I can be quite childish) The coloring is so amazing too... well I can't give you any negative critiques on it... I also enjoy this path with me mushrooms... Well hmm... I think your wallpaper looks much better now. And it appears to me other people share this opinion! And wohoooooo a rainbow! I love rainbows, as you know!
I also like the darker red! The dress is green now which gives our nodame much more shape... maybe her hair should be colored too... but I think it is fine.

I am impressed by your will to improve your wallpapers! When I submit something I am most times already tired of working on that wallpaper and I want to start something new...

I like the idea... The quality of the vector could be improved, the lines look a bit shaky, but hey it's your first vector. My first vector was very shaky... I am not so sure about the color of the eyes. The background looks nice and I like the color combinations that you used... Nice concept!

you wrote into UA guestbook, that you want comments on your wallpaper, so here I am! Interesting concept of your wallpaper... the textures look good on it. What I don't like that much are the blue hearts. They stand out so much and make the wallie (in my point of view) look a bit kitschy... Maybe it would have been better to leave them out... or another color... or some other signs? I am not sure...

I really agree with you, when I put my first wallpaper online here on Minitokyo which was quite a while ago... *lol* almost everybody also wrote a critique and the comments were much longer as well. Okay... my first wallpapers really were a lot worse than the ones now... but still... they are far from being perfect. And most people just write "ohhhh nice"... "I like it" etc. I mean... thanks a lot, I am happy that they like them but I miss some honest criticism. That's one of the reasons why I took part in that arete ii competition. The judges don't know who's submitting and they are offical judges so they all write critiques... Thinking back I really improved a lot due to people giving me this and that advice. When I started here I really only knew a few things about Photoshop. Misa for example told me to use the pen tool... before i had never heard of it. *lol*

So... when I write honest critique on my comments I don't mean it in a bad way... just a help actually. And I am very open and eager to get critiques on my stuff too.

Okay, now about the new version of the wallpaper! I do like it more, you know I didn't like the blue too much. Well if you wanted to work more on it you could try to make the umbrella look more interesting? But I guess it will be difficult since the clothes of the girl have no special pattern, then the umbrella would really stand out a lot. You know I am always obsessed with the color combination of red, white and black (I guess you can tell from my avatar and userpage... *lol*)... but I think it would have worked well on your wallpaper too! However that may be too much of a change...

So yeah, if you still feel like working on the wallpaper I would start on thinking about what to do with the character and her umbrella. Your wallpaper lives of the red and yellow contrast... and the right part is mostly just yellow with thin lines and not much contrast anymore. Maybe you could avoid the umbrella pattern problem if you found one element of the girl to give red color? Have you tried that? Then the right side would show more of this interesting red yellow contrast too. Maybe the inside of the dress (that is not the coat) and her hair? I am not sure though... just telling you stuff that I would try. When I make wallpapers most of the time is being spent on trying around... and so many "solutions" get deleted again... *lol* However this is the way that leads me to more ideas... just a bit time consuming...

But you know... one can always continue to work on something... improve again and again... so it's important how you feel about it and to listen to that feeling! I already like the new version a lot better, it looks good!

congratulations on winning arete II! Your wallpapers looks really stylish... and all these colors... completely different from mine.
You know when i decided to take part in arete II... I wasn't really aware of how difficult it would be to make a nice wallpaper using that head... cause after all... it's just a head... and I didn't want to make a wallpaper that only shows the head! So I decided to draw a little, whereas you chose another Kunie scan. And the theme of the contest was after all Kunie Kanbara....

I like the patterns that you used! Did you make them yourself... or can they be found somewhere?

Your first wall? Wow... Don't look at my first wall... It's actually embarassing! I love Spirited Away too... it's so charming and filled with warmth... whenever I watch it, it makes me feel so comfortable... like sitting at my grandparents cosy fireplace during the cold icy winter.
Your wallpaper is charming too... and filled with many details. You've put so much effort into it. I also like the description of what you did... most people don't do that so detailed... but I always enjoy reading the descriptions, especially if they are like yours. The only thing that I miss is some more shades on the house itself... it looks a bit flat compared to the characters who all have perfect shades... But I feel so delighted about all these characters that you put into one wallpaper ... it's too charming... so I really think your wallpaper deserves more attention!

This is your first wallpaper? Wow... doesn't look like it at all. In my point of view it's a bit too sparkling, but that's a matter of taste. Fact is that your wallpaper is made with lots of care for correct shading... it must have taken a long time. Well done!

Hehe... you definitely have a talent to draw romantic scenes. This looks very skillfully and professional to me. You used all these warm colors that transport the atmosphere so well... I especially like the flowers and the eyes show so much depth and expression, indeed. A well deserved highlight!

I like it a lot... and I think "incredibly simple" isn't the right term for this. It may look as if it was just a view lines... but it's also an original and it's not simple at all to get such a drawing! I love how you drew the splashes of water. And the face turned out really well too! Just because the background is white, doesn't make it simple... cool design, looks like some kind of cd cover indeed. People also say the background was empty... oh well... if it was all filled with other stuff... the whole effect would be gone! The thing is... your drawing would work even better if the format was another one... square. In my point of view the wallpaper size isn't that well suited but I can understand that you wanted to make it a wallpaper, but it's not the right format for this kind of drawing.

I prefer the black and white version as well. The wallpaper really is unbalanced... I don't understand why you didn't place her into the right corner... then in my point of view it would have worked better with our kind of reading from left to right, I think that way everything looks more balanced and well composed? Anyways apart from that I do like the vector... especially of the face. Maybe I'd leave out the lines in the arms... it makes the character look old, but her face is not. So yeah, I actually like it... just wish it was placed a little different...

Sorry I am a bit late. I looked at your wallpaper ages ago but I had no internet at home (didn't work) so I only looked and didn't write anything cause it's not too comfortable at university! And now is holiday time... so it's almost empty there! Scary!

I agree with alterlier... your wallpaper expresses the intended message really well. I only wish you would have chosen a different color for the outline of the character and no white either.... that is what Alterlier said. The composition is really good... lines reaching from the left to the upper left. Maybe the character could have been moved slightly to the right too. But apart from that I really like it! Will there be coming more wallies like this from you?

PS: Sorry I am a little late but I had problems with internet and I always had to go to university to get online so I didn't do much more than check my emails. Luckily now I am back online... at home... yeah! I hope all is going well for you and: "ciesz sie zyciem"!

I absolutely love the colors and the swirled shapes...! The design of this part is amazing! I don't like the computer too much. The straight lines somehow destroy all the funny, creative lines. And hmm maybe something is wrong with my eyes but to me it looks as if the end of the machine was larger than the beginning... I think the perspective is a little bit wrong here... but I don't wanna complain about such details. Love the girl's dress as well... her head is slightly too big in my point of view. And the background is a bit too empty, I understand you couldn't make any more crazy designs then it would have totally ruined the cool swirled shapes... but maybe some gradients would have made the left corner look less empty.

It's different from Spidey-Matt's wallpaper but yet one can see that you are referring to it. So I think it's fine for the copycat theme. I also find this theme very difficult... but great, now there is another entry... not just one.
I don't mind it being simplistic. In the end I always like simplistic wallpapers!
